One Year!
It's been a year since I started my home-based baking business. Time flies! Felt as if it was just yesterday...
I want to thank all those who have been such a great support in this little biz of mine! Without you, I wouldn't have pushed myself this far -- beyond what I'd imagined! Especially in the area of fondant decorations -- I wasn't planning to delve into it at all, thinking it such a waste when people would just discard it for its sweetness, until more than a couple of clients requested for it. So I thought to myself, "Oh well, why not? Let's give it a try! They do look very pretty!"
There were ups & downs, I assure you; and they will still come, I know. I hate the feeling during those moments when inspiration was no where to be found, or when the 'fruit' of my hands turned out to be less than what I expected them to be. But at the same time, I find it therapeutic kneading the dough, or piping the frosting, or just simply placing the cupcake liners into the cupcake tins. Washing up is never genuinely fun for me, but the end result -- all things spic and span -- is my sole motivation! ;D
Well! I'm not yet sure where I would go from here, but I'm totally glad that I've given this a try no matter what happens in the future. As a kid, I've role-played as a food stall owner & I had so much fun! Hehe...So this is almost like a childhood fantasy came through -- except without a storefront! ....Who knows?!
