He's not a perfect dad, that's for sure. But, I must say, he's done 1000 times better than a lot of dads that I know of (past & present), especially those in his generation. If you did talk to him , you would think he was born in the wrong generation or even race -- he was willing to apologize to me (NOW, that's a BIG thing, no matter which generation!!), he was willing to share some stories of how he & my mom dated (AGAIN, a BIG thing!!), he was willing to cook & wash up after us (by the way, he was a school headmaster), he was willing to just sit and hear me play a classical piano piece without fidgeting or moaning, but instead he would clap & tell me how proud he was of me after that! And more...
He was a fantastic basketball player, representing the state, and eventually coached the state's women's team. He loved books....not necessarily reading them though...hehehe...and I've the privilege to inherit some of them. He loved shopping too. Though he did jump along with me & my sis up on the sofa when there was a rat scramming across the living room while we were watching the TV. Oh ya, he looooooved watching TV!!! :D:D Guess I inherit that habit from him too! Nyak nyak!
He'd sacrificed soooooo much for his own parents & younger siblings during his younger days.
He was truly, truly, a wonderful man. Not perfect, but WONDERFUL. Miss you, dad.....
